I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling like my grandparents (who are in their 90s!) really don't quite understand what I do for a living. I normally try to avoid the subject of my career and answer very vaguely / superficially when they ask me questions, but I wonder if I should be making more of an effort to really explain to them what I do every day at work and why it matters. I don't mean to be judgmental of them; they're amazing and very smart people!... But they were in the workforce several decades ago, and it just seems a little overwhelming to get into the details with them. But I fear I am not giving them enough credit! How do others approach this...?
