I had no idea what a joy it would be to watch my father become a grandfather.
My dad has always been a loving person at his core, but when I was growing up, he usually came off as stoic. Make no mistake — I knew I was loved and supported by him, and he would make a point of praising my accomplishments, but in his own way. He would never gush. I had my first child six months ago and am fortunate to live within easy driving distance of my parents, so they see their grandson regularly. The change in my dad since meeting his first grandchild has been UNREAL!! I never saw him cry growing up but now I can't seem to visit him without tissues. He's more emotional than I am, and DOTES on my son. Have anyone else's parents changed this way upon becoming a grandparent??
