Looking for a new job

What is the best way to go about finding a new job/position when you are still working full time. I currently have a decent position, however, I am bored most of the time and I don't feel I fit in a very small association very well... I have applied for other positions, however, I haven't had the best interviews. Just looking for some advice and some help on how to go about it and not feel guilty or frustrated with my taking time to do the best thing for me. On that note, my current company really frowns upon taking any sick time or personal time whatsoever. And I have already requested most of my vacation days for family fun.

I don't know where you're located, but if you're near a coworking space of some sort I'd use that for interviews during lunch. They usually have private phone booths to have conversations in. They can get pricy per day but not as pricy as taking a whole day off from work for a 30 min/1 hr call.

Can you work adjusted hours? Maybe instead of 9-5 you can work 10-6 and tell you boss it's for a doctor (or something of that nature). Some employers will also conduct interviews outside of normal hours if they know that you're still with your company. You could also try scheduling it during your lunch break if the office is close by.

If you feel board try asking for some other things to do within your job scope. Attempt to mingle more with others not necessarily from your dept but within the organization. In the end you have to do what us best for you. Perhaps trading in some of those family fun days for interview days, the job won't need to know.
