Although it's tough to commit to each day, the gym helps relieve my stress. I always walk out feeling better and more positive. It's also great to just talk it out with a friend or meditate.

Stress means something different for the different personality types. Do you know your Myers-Briggs or Big 5 assessment? It may help you learn the real sources of your stress. I don't agree with going vegan just because everybody's doing it. It may not be right for your body type, so find out what foods and vitamin supplements are best for you. The Greek philosophers-- and Native Americans-- placed a lot of emphasis on knowing yourself. That's where I'd start to relieve stress.

Managing stress of work and life in a few ways including vegan diet, limiting drinking, increasing exercise, consistent masturbation, daily morning routine, journaling, meditation. These feel like awesome tools in a tool belt that is working for me. Enough options to feel pumped, few enough to not feel overwhelmed keeping track of it all. I have an excel checklist that I try to look at every day to see what I am / am not doing and it's been awesome. When I feel tired, sad, overwhelmed, I go to the checklist and recognize I haven't been tracking OR doing any of these things, and I just get back on track. Looking to keep my streaks of consecutive days up, but not worried when I lapse. Been helpful for me.

Try mindfulness- the practice of being in the moment. It helps to know this moment will pass and also that sometimes the mind makes things seem worse than they are.

Honestly, doing something I enjoy helps a lot! Or skipping the thing that stresses me out within reason, for example If laundry is overwhelming I’ll skip it that day.

I probably don't go about it very healthily, but I'm currently dealing with quite a bit of stress. The other night I went to a friend's house, took a xanax, drank a glass of wine, and zonked out. But the next day I followed up with going to the gym and eating a healthy breakfast with her, which made me feel fantastic most of the day. In the evening, when the endorphine high wore off, I had a couple of beers and played one of my favorite MMORPG computer games. That didn't really work because I was definitely still feeling dejected. Moral of the story, just exercise and eat right. Allow yourself to feel your feelings because that's the only way to get past it. Find a good friend that you can talk to who doesn't bash your situation. My friend just listened. Yeah, she'd throw in some words of encouragement here and there, but she mostly just listened and that's all I really wanted. I just wanted to cry and be upset and say what I wanted to say without fear of being shamed. Nobody wants that person that bashes the other person in the situation or one who compares your situation with one they had in the past. No. Just somebody who will listen and have a glass of wine with you.

I make a concerted effort to do something I LOVE. Get a manicure, go for a walk, eat chocolate - so long as I'm indulging myself. Works every time!
