I know there has been a lot of press recently about diversifying boards. As a seasoned professional of 20+ years, does anyone know how to apply for such positions?

Contact your alma mater(s) - they are often happy to have alumni get involved

A great way to start is getting involved with a non profit that you are passionate about. For example, I have been part of several non profit boards and from that various companies and other board members see the value that I would bring to a company board. From there, I think a lot of it comes from networking with people involved in the specific company or industry.

Thanks Leslie. I noticed that in order to be included in the database, one had to be nominated by another member. Despite having been in the industry for over 25 years, I personally don't know of very many female board members (the very issue they are looking to address!). Do you have any suggestions for triangulating the process?
