Don’t let yourself get panicked about the market.

The economy has recovered from every recession and depression in history. And although I'm sure everyone knows this, sometimes it’s good to hear a reminder. And while there is a lot of uncertainty about how and when things will bounce back, the market will recover. One thing I’ve decided to do was actually avoid looking at my 401K. Why? Because why overwhelm myself when I know it’ll only upset me in the short term? I’m spending less, not overwhelming myself and making it through to better days. How are you feeling about the market and are there any financial questions that the FGB community can help with?

This is such a great reminder!! I have also shared with friends that I have not looked at my 401K portfolio and I recommend that they do the same. We are not in a position to change anything and as you stated the market always bounces back. I too am spending less and putting more into my savings account because it makes me feel better. It is the one thing that I can do right now to improve my finances if there is a drastic change in my employment status.

Yes, exactly. And I keep reminding others in my generation that if there's any generation that can power through a recession, it's us Millennials. #beentheredonethat
