I am so tired of the rejection and tomorrow's interview seems like such a great position. I am trying hard to stay confident but it is not easy, since I have been rejected for so many roles.
Part of me wants to celebrate and jump up and down, and then the other part of me is cautiously optimistic. The offer is contingent upon a successful background check. I have a misdemeanor back in 2009 when I was young and stupid. This misdemeanor has nothing to do with banking, theft, …

This is terrible, don't take it on yourself as blame. Unfortunately someone took advantage of your absence and stole from the school. Let the authorities know that you were gone on a bereavement and that you know nothing about where these items are. Then make a plea to the community to get them back with no repercussions and perhaps someone will come forward. If not check the local postings say on craigslist to see if someone is selling them online for a profit. You might find out who did the crime.
Move forward and don't give up your hard work.

If they were stolen from your classroom when you weren't even there, it's beyond absurd if you're blamed for it. The school's insurance should cover having them replaced if you can't get the guilty parties to 'fess up and return what they stole. Also have the parents of the kids who enjoy E-sports advocate on your behalf and perhaps donate/do a fundraiser to buy more equipment as well. Are you with a union? If so, call your union rep right away.
