My anniversary was in March and I'm still waiting on my annual review. I've asked my boss several times and he always seems to have an explanation as to what the hold up is. A few weeks ago, I pushed back pretty hard and explained that I wanted to have this meeting because I wanted to talk about my future with the organization and the shift in duties that I would like to make given that I'm halfway through a degree program where I've learned a lot of new skills that I would like to apply to my work.
My manager responded by asking where I would like to shift and has set me up some new projects to underscore my new skills and I've gotten lots of shoutouts for it. But still no annual review.
I admit I'm a little fixated on this and that's partly because I feel that there was some unfairness in what was said in prior evaluations due to my previous manager being sexist and gaslighting me. This behavior by my previous manager is something that my current manager made a point of discussing with me a few months ago. Is this worth bringing up this aspect with my current manager so he understands where I'm coming from and is maybe more motivated to move forward with this process?
