Online Degree- will I have the same career opportunities as someone who went to a traditional school?
Hello all, thank you for taking the time to read this discussion topic and to all those who can offer their opinions or advice.
I received a bachelors degree in 2015 in political science and got a minor in psychology.
These last five years I have been working as a secretary in government. I am practically a customer service agent. I have been doing some soul searching and would like to pursue a career as a child psychologist/ counselor.
I want to go back to school and get a masters in clinical psychology but I don’t have the finances (Or the GPA) to go to a traditional school. I have been in touch with a few online degree programs, (Regent, Grand Canyon University) that make it seem very easy to get into their schools. I would go that route, but I am concerned that I spend 3 years and thousands of dollars on a degree that will not be taken seriously when I go to apply to jobs. Should I be concerned or do job recruiters not care what the school you went to was as long as it is accredited and you passed the necessary exams?
I would appreciate any feedback, thank you.
