Looking for advice or a reality check.

I accepted a position in Oct 2023 that was an absolutely amazing opportunity for me. It included an official mgmt title, 2 direct reports, remote position with "some in office during project implementation," and more $ than I have ever beem offered. I tapped breaks around the in office piece during interview since I need fully remote. The hiring mgr I would report to assured me they would accommodate me and work that it would not be more than maybe 2-3 month every few months. The hiring mgr's mgr clarified 2 weeks together during our testing phase. Both indicated travel would become nonexistent after project go live mid-2024. Day 1 I learn I am reporting to the hiring mgr's mgr, I have no direct reports, and am a "co-lead" rather than a sole workstream mgr. Conversation clarified reporting structure is temporary and that direct reports "were intended for post go-live". I roll with the changes and try to embrace the opportunity. Since then I have been struggling to build a relationship with my co-lead, who started outright antagonistcally to me. We also pushed back our go-live to early 2025. Yesterday I was informed expectations for in office is basically 2 consecutive weeks a month Feb - June with possibility for additional time requirements. My boss emphasizes to me that it is a need of the role and in her right to have me be there, that she is in the middle of a move to Europe and planning a wedding and travels to the office regularly. I feel like there has been a real bait and switch here. I kmow I should have gotten the travel requirements in writing but the best I got was in writing remote role with up to 10% travel and a handshake understanding they would work with me and I would be willing to come in longer during testing. I am struggling to not feel bamboozled or to continue investing in the effort to see this as an opportunity for growth and development. I cannot stress how much I do not want to start job hunting again and the amount of doubt I feel about whether I am over-reacting. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Am I being sensitive, dig my own hole and need to suck this up?
