This job market is terrible. After being laid off I accepted a job far below my skill set with very large pay cut. I understand what you are dealing with. When interviewing it is important not to be desperate to eat and pay bills. My suggestion is get a job, any job it does not need to be in your field it could be gig work or a temp job. This is just for now, it will help your mental state when applying and interviewing.

So sorry for your loss, I am sure that is not helping your overall mental health during what is a much longer than usual job search. Generally many larger companies have decimated their HR/Talent teams and are using ATS (systems) to filter out applicants. You cannot simply apply for jobs. Reach out to folks who know you and know what you have been through and know your work and ask them to refer you or to post your profile to others. Take temp work in the mean time and nothing should be beneath you even hourly work if that gets you out and in a more positive state. Take the time to network and go to meetups if you can and blog on linkedin or share your experience so that you stay relevant and top of mind. Good luck, and keep plugging.
