Testing and Vaccinations at work - haves and have nots
One of my best friends caught up with me last night and he told me that his company (Google) is going to be offering him and all employees free tests 2x per week. He said he guesses they'll also be providing vaccinations at some point when they're more widely available. I felt happy for him but couldn't feel a twinge of resentment on behalf of society (not particularly for myself, tbh) that this kind of thing was happening due to employment -- it's like society is becoming more and more unequal and it's based on who your employer is, when this is a public health issue. It just doesn't feel right -- though I don't blame Google or any company (my friend at Morgan Stanley gets tested weekly, too, as part of being back in-person) for trying to take care of their own. What do people think of this issue?
