3 ways breadcrumbing is the new hiring form of ghosting
I’ve heard of breadcrumbing when it comes to dating and relationships, but lately I’ve been hearing this concept when it comes to careers. So what is breadcrumbing? The breadcrumbs are when the hiring manager or recruiter sends messages in order to keep someone interested in the role -- in a false way that leads people on.
Some signs you’re getting breadcrumbed:
1) When a hiring manager or recruiter leads you on to think that you have the job.
2) They blow hot and cold and might contact you a lot then not say anything for weeks or months later.
3) Their messages lack a genuine response and they’re not specific -- leading you very confused.
Thoughts on this concept? Have you been breadcrumbed before?
