I need to find someone or a company that can revamp my resume. Get too many rejection letters and need an offer.

Hi Lynette,
Remember: You are truly the best expert on yourself and what you’ve done! While the goal is to summarize and peak interest, there is no magic resume solution. Try using measurable language ($,%, numbers, frequency, etc) and impact words before using a service. I recently tried a resume service, but ended up revising it again to match my own voice. I am a former English teacher with HR experience and too many bookmarked articles on resumes. Happy to connect and show you the evolution of my own resume.

I would love to see it as I too need to revamp my resume and even though I have years of experience in a field, I have multiple companies with the same exact role for each so I need to be able to list the role for each of these companies without sounding repetitive.

Hi Lynette - I'm an HR professional and I hired someone to do my resume. My finished resume is nothing like I would have done, and I do tweak it for specific roles, but I think it was worth the money. There are probably hundreds of resume writers on FGB, but I used a place called YES - Your Edge for Success out of Wash DC and was quite happy. (I don't have any relationship with them other than as a former user.) I should add that if you are getting interviews - your resume probably isn't the issue. Good luck in your search!

Indeed, does a very short version, not the best. You can also use Job Scan as a reviewer.

Are you getting interviews? If you are, and aren't getting offers, respectfully, your resume may not be the problem. My point: don't put all your focus on your resume. Make sure you know your stories. Practice them - not so that they sound rehearsed, but so that all the relevant details are included. Create them in the STAR format: Situation/Task, Action, Results.

Please be careful of some of these companies and how you part with your precious dollars. The majority of my career has been spent at startup companies. I had a company review my resume only to be told I was not an *achiever*. That was their word. I laughed out loud. I am a *builder* and state exactly that on my resume. I am frequently employee number less than 20. If I wasn't building the marketing team and marketing infrastructure, there would be nothing to for marketing to *achieve*. I offer this example, as a caution. Be mindful of these companies providing resume review and writing services. If they can't understand who you are, and the types of things you have done at companies, big and small, your resume still won't be a reflective description of you nor your successes and accomplishments. Keep your eyes open.

Hi Lynette,
I'm sure you've seen a million resume examples already and may more simply benefit from someone working directly with you to nail down language specifics...
But in case you've not already reformatted your resume as such, this article presents a pretty good sample + structure: https://www.theladders.com/career-advice/ideal-resume-mid-level-professional.
Good luck!

You could ask former colleagues and/or friends who are in the same industry as you if they can share their resume to get ideas on how to format your resume.

Happy to take a look and give some general feedback for free - note that I'm not an HR professional or expert in resumes; just trying to help. If you also provide info on the type of job you're seeking, that would be useful. Connect with me via LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/deanna-ratnikova-62110722/

Copy that gets RESULTS.

Hi Lynette,
I have been doing resume analysis/rewrites for a few years, now. Quite some time ago, I was faced with completely rewriting my own, and had to slog my way through endless resume-writing articles in order to undertake the job with confidence. So, I ended up writing an entire article on resume writing, just so I'd have all the info in one place. It proved to be tremendously helpful and I was able to create a memorable, polished piece that successfully showcased my accomplishments. Most resumes, however inadvertently, undersell the writer. If you would like to check out my background, you can find me on Thumbtack.com. I have a complete profile on the site. As for the "voice," that Carli Garcia mentioned, I manage to get that right, too. I insist on speaking with my clients on the phone in order to get a true sense of the person behind the document. That's SOOOO important. After all, it's your personal branding! I hope to be able to work with you, soon. PS: A shorter, faster way to contact me is: [email protected] or call me at: 508.543.3106.
Thank you!
