Has your stimulus check shown up?

I haven't received my check, but wonder if the IRS "credited" the $1200 to my 2019 tax bill? Should I keep hoping it'll show up, or forget about it? P.S. the IRS isn't updating anything.

The IRS does not credit the stimulus check to your tax return. You can go online and provide your bank account information (if they don't already have that info from your 2018 or 2019 tax return) and they will direct deposit it to your account. If not, they will mail you a check. But this will take a lot longer than the direct deposit. Go online to https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment and you can learn more there.

Thank you for the helpful info, but the automated response via irs.gov said it's been mailed out since 4/15/2020. Who knows if that's even true! I tried the DD route, but I kept getting rejected. It's the typical gov't frustration thing.

Hi - Received mine, but my boyfriend has not yet received his. Have you tracked yours? https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment My understanding was IRS would not be keeping yours, nor should banks if it is directly deposited and you owe them. Hope this is helpful!

Hi and yes, I've tracked it. The response continues to say it's "delivered as of 4/15/2020." Unfortunately, I moved 3 weeks ago, and I doubt the USPS will forward a gov't check to my new address. I didn't do direct deposit b/c I haven't received a refund in about 8 years, plus my direct deposit info wasn't "accepted". It's a big pain, without using 38 swear words.

Oh no!! Was it a big move? Any chance you could connect with the landlord / current owners to see if they are receiving your mail?

Not a big move. I'm still in town, and yep, I contacted my landlord to see if any mail showed up. No response, so that's awesome. NOT.
