I had this happen to me and it turned out that it was a scam. They wanted me to purchase the needed MacBook and iPad from a website that they named. At that point, I put the breaks on and started investigating and after doing some Google searches, I found it was a scam. I was frustrated as I had put a lot of time into the interviews.

I had this happen once. They stated that they wanted to eliminate bias. But later rounds, it was a video interview. But I have only had it happen once.
