Two years ago, there was an opening at a company I've always wanted to work for. While I got a second interview, I was rejected and took a job at another company. Recently, I discovered my dream company was hiring again — so I sent an unexpected follow-up email and found success.
The email was short and sweet: I explained that I loved interviewing with them a couple years back, but also highlighted the progress I'd made within the last two years. I got a response from the hiring manager — and just landed the job.
I'm sharing my story to hopefully inspire others to keep pursuing their dream positions, even if you're rejected the first time around! One follow up can make all the difference.
