Temp job VS fulltime

Right now I have a full time job which is partial work from home and partial in office. It's super laid back and flexible, and my supervisor is really understanding. I was offered a job that pays $10 more an hour, but it's a temp job that will last until September, but may go into the end of the year. I like my job now but the job i was offered sounds similar and the pay raise would be nice. I've never been in a situation like this. I'm mostly afraid of losing benefits/insurance.

Benefits are very important to me. I would not be willing to give up benefits and permanent work for a short term pay raise.

Hi! I agree with the ladies above. While a pay raise is tempting, it won't last forever when temping! (I didn't foreshadow to do a rhyme.)...LOL! In all seriousness, I have had temporary roles before and while I enjoyed them while it lasted, the devastation after contract ending could be tragic, as no pay or other opportunity, especially in an unstable economy, is guaranteed once you are done. Please compare benefits for both and try to stay with the permanently long term solution. Lastly, if you work long enough at your current job, don't hesitate to rehearse and prepare for a requested raise! There are resources online to negotiate pay raises. Best of luck to you.

Several recruiters have reached out to me offering very similar positions - huge pay raises but only for temp work. While the pay bump would be incredibly appreciated, I have to fast forward to the future with the knowledge that another job may not be lined up once the temp work ends. Also, benefits is SUCH a huge part of the job package that it is definitely one of those things that you have to question if you'll be okay with possibly *not* having insurance once the temp position ends. It's definitely a pros and cons scenario that you'll have to weigh out.

A pay raise is nice, but money isn't everything. If you have a good gig now that is full-time, I wouldn't give that up with the economy we're in. You're talking about six months and then you would have to look for something else. That's a big risk to me for not a huge permanent payoff. If it was a full-time job offering that, sure, go for it, but not for a 3-6 month gig. Good luck!
