These are stellar suggestions and reminders! Does anyone have suggestions or means for making some of these strategies stick for a mom who works at home with kids? Time blocking is actionable and quite effective but I find I can not optimize it with my sons at home this summer! Maybe shorten the time blocks? What are other moms doing? Thanks!

Hello Michelle! Time Management can be complicated for work at home Moms, because they have to be responsible with the job, and take care of the kids at the same time. This is something that people don’t understand, when it comes to the job that has to be done. It happens to me, and is not easy when you have to respond to all at the same time. It is impossible to get more done in a day, considering that you are taking care of the kids. In this case, you can use the following techniques and implement them in your day-by-day: * Select the tasks that you will be working on * Focus on what matters * Prioritize your tasks: which are urgent and important. You can make a list of Things to Do (I do it), and work from the top down. * Try to only take the time to work the important tasks * Divide the big tasks or projects into manageable “small tasks”: this action will help you to be less overwhelmed, and to handle it. * Establish Deadlines or due dates for your tasks: the due dates should be realistic about how long will take you to complete, and you will have time to get them done. * Time Blocking can be the best option considering your current situation, because you can chose one specific thing or task to work on. * Stop multitasking * Set reminders * Get organized * Take some time for you, in order to avoid the burn out * Establish your routine * Prepare your workspace * STAY INSPIRED, POSITIVE AND ALWAYS REMEMBER WHY YOU DO IT! I hope these tips can help you working at home. I admire all the Work at Home Moms, because is a very challenging position and you are always giving the extra mile. Take care!
