So, I worked for a very small company where the motto was, "We are family!" Which was great until you had a clash, then it was "You are dead to me!" I think the only corporation I would join which has a "We are family" ideal is Virgin, and I would join with a big dollop of salt within my expectations.

Initially I thought being like family was a good thing but I learned it was not. Unfortunately, in my experience, it has meant there’s an inner circle already present at the company and there’s a culture of favoritism and dysfunction.
