As we embark upon this new year/new season of jobseekers looking for employment, I’ve thought about the best advice I can lend. If I can offer some advice from a recruiter to any job seeker it would be to please do your best to prepare if you are searching for a job. It is important to do your research on the company, update your resume, practice your interview skills, and be confident about why you should be offered the position. Preparation is key. If you’re not sure why you are applying or what you would bring to an organization based off of your skills, the company or individual you’re interviewing with will not know either. It’s also equally important that your resume reflects the most up to date and relevant details about your skills.

Sound advice, Keena. As the saying goes, "if you fail to prepare, prepare to fail."

Excellent advice. I have two friends currently seeking jobs . Although, they have the time to prepare and research the companies they are applying to they seem to lack the motivation. Nevertheless, I will share your recommendations with them. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for sharing! Lack of motivation is not uncommon especially when you don’t see an end to interviewing insight; however, encourage your friends to remain vigilant! Perseverance is their friend! It’s a slow time, but there is a yes waiting somewhere!
