The Golden Girls-One of the first shows to discuss ageism, racism and sexism in the older American population. Watching the show on Hallmark, it’s amazing the topics that the show covers.

I find myself having this thought about lots of shows that have been off the air for more than 10 years. Friends had a lesbian wedding (Susan and Carol) and an out of wedlock birth but those are still topics that society struggles with for no good reason. Knowing the attitudes of many Gen Xers and Millennials about all of these topics does make me hopeful that progress can be made!

My all time favorite sitcom. Sophia was my Auntie Rosie. Spitting image!!! Still sit and watch. Love them!

I love to catch up on GG reruns -- they are so real and funny!
It's sad that we are STILL trying to make changes when it comes to ageism, racism and sexism.
As a Gen Xer -- I am hopeful that the feisty spirit we were known for can play an important role in making breakthroughs that are still so clearly needed.
On the topic of ageism -- here is a sneak preview of our upcoming podcast episode on the topic (it goes live on Wednesday) so you're the first to get a listen. :)
