Does anyone book their travel for the year starting in January. I find that January is the best time to create a scope and sequence of events, travel, and conferences to attend. | Fairygodboss

I don't book it this far in advance, as my schedule tends to be somewhat liquid, but I do have a few key events every year which I DO book as soon as possible. But after going through a few years where, due to family emergencies, I lost thousands of dollars in nun-refundable fares, etc because I had to cancel plans, I rarely actually pay for anything in advance. That having been said, I do find it helpful to plot events into my calendar at this time of the year, and take a good look at what I know is coming up.

Great idea. It’s true, booking too far in advance can be tricky. I do tend to apply for major speaking opportunities during this time. I Google ‘call for speakers’ to find opportunities.
