Since the pandemic I have found solace in "forest bathing" taking long walks in nature by the bayous in Houston and watching the change in season, beautiful wildflowers, majestic birds flying overhead, butterflies, bunnies, waterfalls, rapids, lakes.......and realizing the beauty that lives within steps of my home I didn't realize existed. My dog is in heaven. AND have found the Map my Run FREE app extremely motivational. I started May 3rd and as of yesterday morning had already logged over 100 miles and could record pictures from my walks and see the route as well as my pace. I participated in their #weareallinthistogether challenge of 30 miles in 30 days and with two days left to go and hoping to come closer to 110 miles.

I have a neurological disturbance called Mal de Debarquement Syndrome. It makes me feel like I'm constantly on the deck of a ship, rocking on the ocean. Because of this, I had to dial back my fitness pursuits - I was doing a "mini boot-camp" workout every morning, but the rocking made it risky - I was afraid of falling during some of the more intense things. So, in an effort to build up my balance, I started doing yoga. It was great. I found some amazing yoga workouts on Amazon Prime - the best one is called Yoga Sweat and is produced by ManFlow Yoga (yes, for men specifically, but women aren't barred from it!). It's yoga designed for the less-flexible. I really enjoyed it and purchased a couple of their DVDs. So Yoga. Yes! Also, I started following Paul Eugene on Amazon Prime - he teaches low-impact aerobics and walk/march/dance workouts, along with chair workouts and other lower-intensity workouts. I've enjoyed him too! There is so much fitness on Amazon Prime and YouTube...you can easily find something to fit your needs or to change up your routine! <3
