If you want more and believe you deserve more based on your workplace contributions, your first step (as I shared on Friday) is to make a list of what you want.
Today, take 15 minutes to:
(1) identify one specific goal that requires you to move your ask. For example, if your goal is to be promoted - write it down and give yourself a deadline. If you need more flexibility, what date will this request need to be effective. More money - how much and by when?
(2) Based on the goal you’ve specified, what 1-3 obstacles are preventing you from achieving this goal? Side note: if “me” isn’t on your list of obstacles, should it be? We tend to stand in the way of our success and give power to external aspects vs standing in our own power.
(3) For each obstacle you’ve listed, specify actions you’ll take to eliminate and/or overcome the barriers you’ve identified.
