Pre COVID I woke at 4:30am to work out. After the lockdown I didn't need to but I did anyway. It was hard some mornings but soon became a comfortable routine that gave me a since of stability.

And you can’t beat the benefits of exercise Rebecca. That’s awesome!

Great ask!!! What are some of the things you do? As simple as this may sound, I keep all lights off and sip on my cafe con leche, while reflecting or listening to the birds. Then, I set a goal or two of what I'd like to accomplish for myself for the day. For example, yesterday I made it a point to take time out, and go through mementos and smiled at many precious memories. Then I decided to do some work outside.

I made a playlist over the weekend that took me on a wonderful trip down memory lane. It was awesome! #FreeFun #MyHappyPlace

After 8 weeks telecommuting during the COVID-19 lockdown, I committed to keeping to a workday with hard boundaries to allow for personal down time. I had noticed a time-creep where my work day started far too early (6am) initially due to IT resource issues and often bled late into the evening in an effort to remain accessible/visible. My colleagues and I are learning to be much more transparent about availability and respecting other colleagues individual boundaries (child care, family time, homeschooling, etc). I find myself more energized for work and more productive as a result.

New times call for reflection and wonderful ways of rediscovering how those changes can make us more energized and productive.

Helping others be their professional best selves
I have started a new morning routine that involves not logging onto my computer until 8:00 a.m. It's amazing what an extra hour/ hour and 1/2 can do. Yoga, walks, reading and journaling. Also, breakfast - healthy, too. I completely agree that we cannot help others if we do not take care of ourselves!

This is excellent! I actually started to make a hard stop from Friday 5:00 pm thru Monday morning. Interestingly, I've had folks get upset with me because I didn't answer a post or comment right away. Once I explain that I'm being selfish with my weekend time....they get it. Well...sort of. LOL
