      In 2020, we strengthened our Diversity and Inclusion initiatives to make them critical to our core strategy. Tynika Wilson, our Senior Vice President of Debit Cards & Fund Services, chairs the Diversity and Inclusion Committee that strives to actively promote a diverse and inclusive work environment through policies, practices and programs that harness the power of individuality to foster stronger, more unified teams based upon principles of cultural sensitivity, equality and respect for all. We have an open forum of Social Communities that form support or interest groups throughout the credit union. Our Diversity and Inclusion Social Community has close to 2,700 members, openly discussing gender equality issues and helping enhance our inclusive workplace. We also have open professional development groups focused on women in technology, such as the Women in Cybersecurity peer and community of practice group founded by an employee soon after she joined our team.

      Maternity-Related Benefits
      Overview

      Navy federal provides maternity, parental and adoption leave to eligible employees to care for and bond with a new child. 

      Adoption assistance is available for employees who legally adopt a child(ren) while employed at Navy Federal. Navy Federal will reimburse employees up to $5,000 per legal adoption.

      Navy Federal matches 100% up to the first $500 annually that an employee contributes to their Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA).

      The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides resource referrals for a range of childcare needs and support for parents.

      Navy Federal offers nationwide childcare discounts.

      CareFirst PPO members and their spouses have access to the Healthy Mom and Baby Program using the Ovia Pregnancy app. Through the app, employees receive personal support from Ovia Health Coaches and have access to weekly videos, a customizable health tracker calendar, and more than 2,000 articles, recipes and tips and tools. Once an employee completes the requirements for the Healthy Mom and Baby Program, they are eligible to earn an incentive.

      Yes, Navy Federal offers nursing mothers a private place, shielded from view and free from intrusion, to express milk. Larger campus locations include dedicated mother's rooms with stations for mothers to express and store milk during the workday.

      Yes, New York Life (formerly known as Cigna), Navy Federal's disability vendor, provides vocational coaching.
      Maternity leave coaching

      Fertility
      Yes, CareFirst PPO members and their dependents also have access to the Ovia Health apps. The medical plan provides infertility counseling.
