Experiences of working mothers here vary wildly - a lot depends on your particular office/practice area/supervisors. I personally have had a positive experience as a working mother of two young kids, both born while I was working here, but my compensation is lower than that of my male peers, even those with young kids, because bonuses are pro-rated for parental leaves.
I've worked here for a little over 3 years. Generally, morale is pretty good but the hours are very long and unpredictable. It is easy to get burnt out. This is generally the case with most big law firms. The company has outreach programs for women but is primarily male-dominated. The maternity leave is very generous.
Top-down commitment to progression of women to long term roles including partner. Meaningful leadership roles available to associates. Offers generous/market-based leave and flexible work programs. Above all, exceptional quality of lawyering is required in the long run.
