“As an engineer who transitioned into project management and senior leadership early in my career, I began experiencing headaches and anxiety that impacted my confidence as a senior leader and a parent to my two sons. My best efforts to manage my stress were not working and I knew I had to find a new way to survive as a leader and a mother. I discovered that mindfulness meditation relieved the stress and allowed me to remain calm even in the most challenging of situations. The difference was so profound that I invested my time to become a trained Mindfulness Facilitator and then, brought what I learned back into the office.”
With over 20 years of experience in leadership, combined with 8 plus years of an active mindfulness practice, Joy has developed the ability to help people at various levels of the company to embrace their strengths and discover the leader within. As she discovered for herself, the benefits extend beyond the individual to the organization.
“SCE has supported my educational and career growth which has helped develop me into the leader I am today. After 16 years with Southern California Edison, I’m encouraged to always strive to be a better leader in the office, at home, and in the community. The best part of my job is that I have an opportunity to help grow and develop other authentic leaders daily.”
