"This is a very family friendly company, and if you are willing to play the politics there are some opportunities for development. The company cares about equality, and walks the talk. However, to any employee: don't mistake that a big friendly corporation like this one won't do the typical corporate dirt. They do layoffs periodically and change internal organization all of the time. This is not a place for everyone to retire."

"Most managers are coached to be supportive. It is part of the Amex culture. Just watch out for any managers who are more interested in politics than in leading you. This goes for senior management too."
