"This is purely dependent on the team you’re assigned to, manager, and the visibility (value) of your work based on leadership opinion. You get stack ranked against multiple other teams who may be working on completely different projects with different values. It’s really unfair and a toxic practice. I rarely see women in leadership positions, even less women of color. The ones that do make it work much harder than their colleagues to get noticed/promoted. All ideas I’ve shared to improve our work gets shot down and subject to the rating one one managers opinion of you. Does not pay market value either. Avoid at all costs. "

"Company culture has changed significantly over the years and especially at leadership levels it is a boys club. You will work twice is hard for little to no recognition, and office politics are rampant in this toxic culture."

"Capital One is trying to be better re: promoting women and diversity in general and there are a lot of great policies (and speaker series, etc) promoting and educating the company on diversity, inclusion and belonging initiatives. There is still work to be done in practice and within individual teams. Overall, Capital One is likely better than most in the financial services industry. "

"In theory, there is the potential for a lot of flexibility but in practice (and the culture), it is less so and it feels like you need to be constantly on and responding (for example, policy and managers will encourage the associate to completely disconnect after work hours or while on vacation but that almost never happens in practice and managers/leaders are always on... it makes the expectation for the team the same despite what the policy or manager may say)"

"I have not used any of these benefits but I believe it is 18 weeks for the primary care giver/birth mother and 4 weeks for non-birthing parent. There is also paid leave for adoption and fertility/adoption benefits. "
