Women's Job Satisfaction (5=very satisfied)

While Deere is attempting to change its culture, it is still a male-dominated, conservative environment. "Wait-your-turn" leadership is an unstated principle that often works against diverse and/or female mid-career hires because Deere has many employees with 20+ years with the company.

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. Deere's middle management is full of men who have been with the company for their entire career. There is a history of tenure-based leadership opportunities (as opposed to skill-based). For women who are late career high level hires or for women who do not aspire to management, working at Deere could be a great experience.

I have worked here for thirteen years and women are treated equally. The company encourages everyone to participate in the continuous improvement of the company, the product, and how the product is produced.

It can be challenging to be in such a male dominated work place. Women do have to work extra hard and take initiative but it is noticed and rewarded.

I worked as a contracted employee for several years, then was hired. Absolutley loved all my positions except the last one, but stuck with it. I wanted to be on the install team and did do a few, but not when the new system came out. Basically a very good company to work for. Male dominated management, but does seem to be bringing more women up.
