SDC Courier

Operations

January 1970

As a courier that deals with medical devices and life saving medication, I would love to see more women as we seem to take time commitments seriously and go above and beyond to complete delivery. It’s intersting work. The pay could be better but the benefits are great.

There are women in management, white and black. I have not seen any Asian or Latina women in management, however.

This employer is a wonderful overall place to work. Great people and culture. Women did have a difficult time moving into management positions, however.

Good work life balance for the most part. Not as flexible about telecommuting as other companies. Pay is on the lower side.

It can be a brutal job for a woman, I'm not particularly girly but I get sick of dirt from boxes all over my skin and face and under my nails and how much heavy lifting I have to do every day. If you have any creative desire you will not enjoy this job.

Shortly I will be needing to take maternity leave, I do not know yet what my company offers.

  • One Thing Employer Could Improve

Have more stringent screening for management positions and continued development of managers.

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. Depends on the person. Some women/people are satisfied with this job and environment. I would never recommend it to a creative person or anyone who wants to feel any sense of accomplishment. It's just a grind.

Management

January 1970

Check if management is what you really want from this company. They do not follow their own mission statement People/Service/Profit...they are only interested in Profit..the more you give them the more they will suck your life away..with NO appreciation. This is predominantly a male environment.
