"I have worked at Michelin for 15-year and during the time I have felt very supported by the Company and their offerings. They have a really great career development program, they have amazing learning and development offers and their compensation and benefits had been a perk. As a working mother, I have felt supported through the maternity leave, access to care.com, the Michelin Mamas, MilkStork (breastmilk transportation), etc. I am proud to be a woman at Michelin."

"Considering Michelin’s industry is male-dominated and the company has a rich, paternalistic history, Michelin is fairly progressive compared to other companies on promoting gender diversity. That said, I do not believe I am paid equally to my male counterparts. I also believe I’ve been passed over for promotions because of my gender related to their assumption that I’m the primary childcare provider for my child (and therefore not as committed, not available for long hours or able to meet travel requirements, etc. as a male coworker.) Most of my positions over my 20+ years with Michelin have been in male-dominated departments on top of that. I’ve been exposed to some pretty eye-opening situations. Most managers I’ve had don’t tolerate it and address issues. Others are the issue. Fortunately there are ways to bring this to HR’s attention. The company has policies and tremendous resources in place though to help. I think compared to the majority of companies out there, Michelin is better than most. "

We appreciate your comments about the work we have done to improve gender diversity within our company. We continue our efforts to ensure fair pay for equal work and the promotion of females everywhere within this historically “male-dominated” industry. There is always more work to be done. If you have a specific concern that you would like to address or ideas for improvement, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected].
