"If you are a tough chick (think Oracle/tough as nails/hard core) this might be a good place or interested in very traditional roles such as customer support and HR, SFDC is a good place. Otherwise, men rule the roost. Very few female leaders with power and fewer rising through the ranks. Marc's recent, public statements about hiring women is encouraging - but 5 years is a long time in the tech world."

"I think this company wants to do right by women, but the actions they are taking are superficial and have a minimum impact on the day to day experience of being in a male dominated company/industry. How about longer term paid leave for both genders? How about training all employees to understand their natural biases against women so they can check the ridiculous assumptions about the women around them.
In my department, it feels like it is a boys club, and my presence makes things awkward."

"Overall this is a good company to work but criteria for promotion isn't level across departments and often seems to be more political than merit based. Opportunities are there but you need to be proactive."

"Leadership roles seem to be predominantly male, but correspond to the fact that we have a higher percentage of men vs women in the industry. Still looking for that salary equalization we keep hearing about in the news."

"It is phenomenal to see executive leadership rally around equity-related issues - including pay equity for women, and encouraging more women to get into the tech industry. However, there is still a strong "boys club" vibe with the sales teams and women don't seem to climb the ranks in sales or solution engineering. Many opt to shift career focus to other departments, like Customers For Life or Marketing, when starting families. Overall though, it is a fantastic company that I am proud to work for and I encourage women to consider building their careers here - it's the most supportive place I've worked."
