"It is a tough place to work and have a family life. There aren't a lot of sick days given and if you have small children, this can be a problem. You are stuck at 3 weeks vacation from year 3 to 15 years. "

"SCE is more traditional and conservative than many CA companies, which is not uncommon for utilities that have been around for 140 years. Telecommuting exists, but is predominantly left to the managers' discretion. The company has made many, many leadership changes over the last five years and I think it's better for it, but it is important to know that the organization does have hierarchy. Turnover is low which reduces opportunities and there is no clear "career path" for promotion and few step on the ladder, however there are opportunities to implement ideas and channel your interests, get mentoring and support; you need to self-promote and network to achieve advancement."
