"Support of flexible work schedules and overall culture vary from department to department, and are largely dependent upon your organization within Schwab, or even your direct reporting structure. In most areas, there are great leaders, male and female, and there are many positive initiatives in-process to continue to make Schwab a great place to work. I would say that the company in general supports work-life balance. However, without many formal policies in place (e.g., telecommuting often depends solely on whether or not your director/VP is supportive) and outdated/inadequate benefits (e.g., maternity leave is bare minimum), Schwab has room for improvement in several key areas."

"Depending on which group you work with, there are amazing leaders who understand the difficulties of working parents and provide support; however it would be nice if the overall company would support this instead of making it bureaucratic. Also there is no paid parental leave, which holds them back as a great company to work for."

"There used to be a strong bench of women execs in the 90s and 2000s but this regressed into white male execs in the latter 2000s - definitely a pity as Schwab was a role model for women leaders in financial services. I hope they come back."
