"TR is a great place to work - nice benefits, great people, strong product portfolio, satisfying work - however the opportunity for real (upward) growth is missing. There is a lot of encouragement to take on a "gig" to learn about and support another team but that is designed to help with lateral job changes, not upward growth."

"Thomson Reuters has a decent work/life balance. Parental leave benefits are good in the U.S., but they were improved years after I had my children. I have always found that there is a lot of opportunity if you are willing to look for it and work hard. You must be an advocate for yourself."

"Parental leave at TR is not based on gender, and is available for adoptions as well. Birth mothers will generally get 18 weeks, 6 weeks short-term disability and 12 additional weeks. If both parents work at TR both are entitled to 12 weeks of parental leave."

"My current manager is very supportive. I have had some managers who have been less so, and initially fought against flexible work arrangements. "

"Your manager and location make a big difference. Some geographies in Asia are a bit more hierarchical and provide less flexibility - even on the same team."
