It is nearly impossible to transition off of the phone to a non-phone position. Even if you are qualified. I have co-workers with Master's degrees, still taking phone calls. Very hard to get promoted. I lot of favoritism that goes on behind the scenes. "

Heavily relationship based, rather than skills based- meaning your promotion and success lies in you grasping the "invisible rules" and being an ill-defined subjective "culture fit". "
