    Role Overview

    The Manager, Product Management, manages the full product lifecycle for assigned product lines within the Brother Mobile Solutions (BMS) portfolio, with primary responsibility for desktop thermal printing solutions. This role is accountable for product lifecycle execution including product development support, roadmap maintenance, pricing analysis, product launch coordination, training support, and post-launch performance optimization.

    As a cross-functional business partner, this role works closely with Marketing, Engineering, Sales, Finance, Operations, and Brother International Corporation (Japan) Product Planning to execute defined product strategy, ensure alignment across teams, and deliver competitive, market-relevant solutions. The Manager represents regional product requirements in global planning discussions and provides structured analysis to support roadmap decisions under the guidance of senior product leadership. This position demonstrates strong product management capability and sound business judgment while executing strategy within established portfolio direction. This position may require up to 30-40% travel.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Product Management

      • Manage the complete product lifecycle for assigned product lines, from concept support through end-of-life execution

      • Drive growth through optimization of current products and execution of approved new product introductions

      • Create and maintain Marketing Requirements Documents, Product Specifications, and Product Requirements Documents

      • Maintain and execute 3-5-year product roadmaps aligned to divisional strategy

      • Support pricing analysis, competitive pricing evaluations, ROI/TCO tools, and end-of-life planning activities

      • Monitor product performance (revenue, profitability, attach, quality) and recommend data-driven adjustments

      • Serve as a product line resource for Sales and cross-functional partners, escalating complex or strategic matters to senior product leadership as appropriate

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

      • Partner closely with Sales, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to ensure alignment across assigned product lines

      • Build effective working relationships to improve responsiveness, coordination, and execution

      • Share structured insights from customers, field teams, and competitive intelligence to inform product improvements

      • Provide timely product information and tools to support Sales effectiveness

      • Ensure Marketing receives accurate product data to support messaging and campaign execution

      • Model collaborative and accountable behaviors within the Product Management organization

    Product Development

      • Support the development of business case analyses and product proposals aligned to defined strategic priorities

      • Conduct structured market research, competitive analysis, and trend evaluations within assigned product lines

      • Engage with end users, channel partners, ISVs, resellers, and vendors to gather market insights and validate requirements

      • Translate customer and market insights into documented product requirements and enhancement recommendations

      • Partner with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Service, and Brother Japan Product Planning teams to execute approved product initiatives

      • Participate in international and cross-regional planning calls, representing regional product requirements and providing supporting analysis

    Product Launch

      • Support and coordinate product launch initiatives in partnership with cross-functional teams

      • Provide product input to support web updates, content development, digital marketing activities, trade shows, and demand generation programs.

      • Develop and deliver product training materials and launch resources in collaboration with Marketing and Sales

      • Support early adopter programs and structured feedback collection efforts

      • Document and track promotional activities in partnership with Marketing and Sales

    Product Enablement

      • Manage approved product enhancements, variants, and derivative offerings based on defined customer and market requirements

      • Partner with Engineering on feature clarification, prioritization support, and issue resolution

      • Support Engage in pre-sales opportunities with product knowledge and participation in customer discussions as needed

      • Assist Sales and Engineering in managing and resolving escalated product issues within assigned product lines

      • Recommend solution ideas derived from customer feedback and application insights

      • Deliver product training sessions for internal teams and partners as required

    Experience & Qualifications

    Education Level:

      • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Business, Marketing or Related field

    Experience Level:

      • 7+ years of a combination of experience spanning the following areas:

        • Supporting or managing product lifecycle activities, including product development coordination, launch execution, and post-launch optimization
        • Contributing to product strategy and roadmap development within defined portfolio direction
        • Working cross-functionally with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Operations to support successful product introductions
        • Interfacing with customers, channel partners, sales teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and market insights
        • Developing financial analyses and supporting business case development for new product introductions or product enhancements
      • 3+ years of experience in Thermal printing, labeling, Auto ID, or hardware-based product experience Preferred

    Software/Technical Skills

      • Technical product expertise, preferably in the mobile printer/labeler product category

      • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

    Other Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

      • Advanced ability in the following areas: performing market research, developing competitive analysis reports, developing product specifications, maintaining product roadmap and 5-year plan, defining markets/applications, and supporting tradeshows

      • Proficient ability in the following areas: developing business plans & proposals, developing strategic product vision, and supporting channel pricing

      • Ability to think creatively, and analytically to translate market/customer requirements into solutions, products, derivatives, features, business cases, and cost/benefit analyses

      • Ability to define key market segments/customers to conduct validation activities

      • Ability to work cross-functionality and build relationships across varying teams, both domestically and internationally

      • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal)

      • Ability to manage a budget

      • Ability to present at all levels of the organization and to customers

    Additional Details for This Role

    This role will be a hybrid role. Subject to business needs, employees may work remotely up to two days per week. Assigned office days will be determined by your manager. #LI-Hybrid

    Base Salary

      • The targeted base salary range for this position is $ 120,000 - $ 140,000 per year.

      • Base salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the successful candidate, as well as factors such as internal equity, cost of labor in the hiring location, and alignment with market data.

    Additional Compensation

      • This position is eligible for a 15 % bonus at 100% of target, with the opportunity to achieve above 100% dependent on company performance and in alignment with company bonus plans.

      • Bonus awards are discretionary and contingent upon individual performance as well as Brother achieving its corporate objectives, in accordance with the applicable bonus plan in effect.

    About Where We Work

    Brother's corporate headquarters for the Americas is in Bridgewater, NJ, across from the Bridgewater Commons Mall. This location houses key corporate functions, including HR, legal, finance, IT, and supply chain, and a significant presence of our business unit leadership and marketing teams. Our manufacturing and distribution facility in Bartlett, TN spans an impressive 1.5 million square feet - equivalent to 26 football fields - and is located on Brother Boulevard. In addition to the distribution center operations team, this facility hosts several other departments, including our customer service group. Brother also has employees based in other locations, such as Westminster, CO, where many of our marketing and product engineering team members from the mobile solutions division operate, as well as our distribution centers in Richmond, VA and Perris, CA. Additionally, our outside sales teams work remotely within their territories, staying geographically close to the accounts they support to ensure they are always "at your side" for our customers.
