Inspects doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure; opens and locks buildings as needed.
Enforces CNM policies and practices by informing or warning violators of infractions such as loitering, smoking, or unauthorized access.
Provides safety escorts for faculty, staff, students, and visitors; assists with vehicle lockouts, jump-starts, and general inquiries.
Identifies and reports security issues, facility hazards, or emergencies; contacts police, fire, or medical personnel as needed.
Responds to suspicious activity; may confront or detain individuals when appropriate, pending law enforcement arrival.
Checks emergency equipment (e.g., lighting) and reports malfunctions.
Monitors parking areas to ensure safety and provide assistance.
Maintains oversight of issued keys and security equipment.
Prepares clear, concise reports on daily activities and incidents.
May provide specialized security in operational areas requiring specific knowledge.
Serves as a Campus Security Authority under the Clery Act.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check and professional references
Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts-including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events needed
