    Position summary

    nics truck to various job sites to repair machinery and equipment.

    • Works extended, and at time, erratic hours.

    • Trouble shoot and maintain all types of heavy equipment, including but not limited to reclaimers, milling machines, loaders, graders, dozers, pavers, rollers, dump trucks, Redimix trucks, trailers and road tractors.

    • Examines equipment and discusses with shop foreman, operator, or project manager the nature and extent of damage or malfunction.

    • Plans work procedure and/or possible solutions such as part redesign, substitution of material or parts, or rearrangement of parts or subassemblies.

    • Raises equipment, with hydraulic jack, hoist or crane, to gain access to mechanical components underside of equipment.

    • Removes units or pieces such as but not limited to engines, transmissions, drums, pumps, hydraulic cylinders, seals, tires, brakes, suspension, etc.

    • Repairs or replaces parts such as but not limited to drums, seals, buckets, hydraulic pumps, electric motors, air and hydraulic valves, pistons, rods, gears, electrical wiring, electrical components, radios, heaters, wipers etc.

    • Rebuilds parts such as but not limited to engines, transmissions. Hydraulic pumps, gear boxes, etc.

    • Perform preventative maintenance on all brands and types of mobile equipment with proper procedures for containment and/or disposal of waste.

    • Fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products such as industrial equipment and machinery, power equipment.

    • Sets up and conducts tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate design proposals for improving equipment performance or other factors, or to obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control.

    • Adhere to any and all state and federal regulations, if applicable, as set forth by the US Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), or any other regulatory agency.
