The Terminal Operator 1 will complete daily loading, unloading, administration and safety requirements on site. They will also actively participate in site maintenance and upkeep to drive the 5s and "make it better" programs. The Terminal Operator 1 will actively engage with customers to ensure that we are providing a solid customer experience on site.
What you'll be contributing:
Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Gains full understanding and demonstrate adherence to the safety program
Loads trucks and/ or rail cars as per the daily schedule utilizing the on-site systems
Unloads product as per the daily schedule utilizing the on-site systems
Operates on site mobile equipment and receive training
Handles inquiries and orders for customers and sales personnel
Maintains shipping logs, prepares bills of lading, and calculates split-load tonnages based on a customer's instructions
Works with company apps for site emails, safety incident reporting, completing training and other programs.
Maintains supply point and 5S standards
Assists with basic maintenance of equipment on site
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
To succeed in this position, you will need:
High school graduation or equivalent is required.
Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
Willingness to learn, training will be provided.
Receive basic site safety training including First Aid and all applicable LSR Training
Receive OSHA (IHSA) 10 hour certification
What to expect in a cement environment:
Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
