Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Bilingual M365 Consultant with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 platforms (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online) and fluent proficiency in both Japanese and English.
The primary responsibility is to bridge communication between Japanese-speaking users/stakeholders and English-speaking technical teams, while also providing hands-on functional consulting support across M365 workloads.
This role requires someone who can translate accurately, guide users, support migration activities, and provide practical M365 insights in both languages. Strong communication skills, cross-cultural awareness, and technical-functional understanding are essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Microsoft Office 365 Functional Consulting
• Provide functional support and guidance across SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Exchange Online.
• Assist end users with navigating M365 services, understanding features, and adopting best practices.
• Conduct bilingual walkthroughs, demos, and guidance sessions for Japanese users.
• Support troubleshooting of basic M365 issues and escalate technical cases to engineering teams when required.
• Explain technical concepts in simplified Japanese and English, ensuring clarity for non-technical users.
2. Translation & Communication Support
• Deliver real-time verbal and written translation between Japanese and English during meetings, training sessions, migration discussions, and user support interactions.
• Translate emails, documents, FAQs, technical notes, and user communication materials.
• Ensure context-appropriate translation for both business and technical content.
• Bridge communication gaps between Japanese end users and global delivery teams.
• Support project teams in migration readiness, user communication, change management, and stakeholder coordination.
• Ensure Japanese stakeholders clearly understand schedules, deliverables, and required user actions.
• Track Japanese user issues and coordinate with English-speaking technical teams for timely resolution.
• Support onboarding, communication plans, and user adoption activities.
• Prepare bilingual (Japanese & English) documentation including guides, FAQs, communication packs, training material, meeting minutes, and status reports.
• Maintain structured logs of user issues, translation tasks, and M365 support activities.
• Provide bilingual summaries and reports to project managers and leadership.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Fluent Japanese and English proficiency (spoken, written, business communication).
• Minimum 2 years of bilingual translation/interpreter experience in IT or corporate environments.
• Strong functional knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, including:
o SharePoint Online (sites, libraries, permissions basics)
o Microsoft Teams (meetings, channels, collaboration)
o OneDrive for Business (file management & sharing)
o Outlook / Exchange Online (mailbox basics, rules, calendar)
• Ability to translate both technical and non-technical content clearly and accurately.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in multicultural environments.
• Good coordination abilities with consistent follow-up and task tracking.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
• Experience working on IT migration or digital workplace transformation projects.
• Familiarity with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow or Jira.
• Understanding of general IT concepts (accounts, access management, devices, cloud basics).
Soft Skills
• Strong listening and articulation abilities in both Japanese and English.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple requests.
• Proactive, dependable, and user-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with global teams.
