Buyer II operates with moderate autonomy and supports cross‑functional teams including planning, engineering, quality, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Execute purchasing activities for assigned materials, components, or commodities to meet production, inventory, and customer requirements
Create, review, and manage purchase orders in accordance with MRP signals, contracts, and Jabil policies
Communicate with suppliers on delivery schedules, shortages, price discrepancies, and quality issues
Monitor supplier performance (OTD, responsiveness, quoting accuracy) and escalate risks as required
Support sourcing initiatives including RFQs, cost analysis, and supplier comparisons
Participate in cost‑reduction, VAVE, and supply‑base optimization initiatives
Maintain accurate procurement data in ERP/MRP systems (typically SAP/Oracle‑based systems)
Work closely with planners to resolve material shortages and prevent line‑down situations
Support supplier onboarding, qualification, and compliance with Jabil's ethical and regulatory standards
Ensure compliance with Jabil procedures, SOX controls, and customer requirements
Assist in continuous improvement projects and supply chain KPIs
May provide day‑to‑day guidance to Buyer I or Junior Buyers
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Typically 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or materials management
Experience in electronics manufacturing / EMS environment preferred
Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
Strong understanding of purchasing, logistics, and inventory concepts
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing electronic components (PCBA, mechanicals, cables, packaging, etc.)
International sourcing or global supplier exposure
Experience supporting cost‑reduction and supplier negotiations
