The Alternative Investments (AI) Sales Team is a 35-member team within Wealth Management representing the full Alternative Investments Platform. As an expert and trusted resource within the AI Sales team, the AI Sales Associate will act as a contact on the internal sales desk for the respective sales territory and assist in the coordination of all sales efforts for the MSWM Alternative Investments platform, including: hedge funds, private equity, private credit, private real estate funds, managed futures, exchange funds and other Alternative Investment strategies. The Alternative Investments platform has approximately $285 billion of assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for proactively making outbound calls to MSWM Financial Advisors and Private Wealth Advisors and for fielding incoming calls on the sales desk
Build new and maintain existing relationships with AI users in the territory
Work closely with the AI Sales Director and AI Specialist as their internal partners covering their territory
Coordinate the efforts of third-party wholesalers/resources within the respective territory
Coordinate regional events and roadshows with fund managers to educate Morgan Stanley Advisors and clients on Alternative Investment strategies and products
Work across the department with the product development, research, investor relations, and operations teams on demand assessments, marketing materials, etc.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Ability to explain complex information clearly and simply
Ability to make presentations effectively
The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and organized
Prior experience working in wealth management or financial services
Sales and marketing experience
Knowledge of alternative investments
Must be a team player with the ability to work effectively in a team or independently
Ability to represent the Firm professionally with internal and external contacts
Knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint programs is a plus
Bachelor's degree required
Two years+ related financial services sales experience required
Active Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) required upon hire or within 120 days of hire date
Salesforce (or alternative CRM) experience preferred
Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $57,000 and $115,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
