Would you go back to your old company for the salary only?

Discouraged and Stuck

I'm facing what I knew would eventually happen: ageism, and they know they can hire someone cheaper for the salary I would ask for.

I have never had this much trouble finding work before.

I was layed off 14 mos ago. I have put in hundreds of applications with referrals, HR and hiring manager contacts directly online with companies but with no response. I’ve had maybe 6 ‘interviews’ but only 2 were face to face with a person actually working with the team. I am 58 with over 20 years in my area of expertise and wonder if ageism is a factor. I

Need some advice.

Hi, I have a question for the supervisors, managers: I work in the social work/medical field, nearly three years now, if that helps.
