I have never had this much trouble finding work before.

I was layed off 14 mos ago. I have put in hundreds of applications with referrals, HR and hiring manager contacts directly online with companies but with no response. I’ve had maybe 6 ‘interviews’ but only 2 were face to face with a person actually working with the team. I am 58 with over 20 years in my area of expertise and wonder if ageism is a factor. I

I have an undergrad degree from UC Berkeley, a Master's and post-grad Certification from Johns Hopkins.

I have always been advised to not put the year I graduated on my resume because of potential ageism, but isn't it okay for a potential employer to ask when I graduated college?

Can someone explain the tradition of giving months of notice when retiring but 2 weeks is acceptable if you are resigning to take a new role? There is already ageism in the workplace.
