Has anyone here actually landed a job from a FairyGodBoss virtual career fair?

I’ve attended a few now, and none of them have felt worth the time. I follow all the instructions in their PDF. This time, I even found the listed recruiters and booked meetings with about five of them. Two accepted, but when I logged in at the scheduled time, no one ever showed up.

I also tried the recruiter speed-networking portion. I had my video and audio turned on. A recruiter appeared in the room but never turned on video or audio. I introduced myself, used the chat, tried multiple prompts… nothing. She eventually disconnected, and no one else ever joined.

To make things more confusing, I went to the websites of the two companies that were supposedly hiring. The event invite never mentioned that both companies only hire in specific cities, and one of them had exactly one marketing role posted. It would’ve been helpful to know that upfront. It ended up feeling like a pretty big waste of time.

Attendance didn’t look very high either, but these events must work for someone, or they wouldn’t keep hosting them.

So I’m genuinely curious: has anyone here actually gotten a job from one of these career fairs?

Yesterday was the first one that I attended. While I did have pleasant conversations with a couple of recruiters, One of the two was very clear that they were looking for someone who lives in California, and with a particular type of financial background. So I think it might be helpful in future if there's a little more visible disclosure about who is looking for what so that candidates and recruiters can be better paired together.

I haven't attended because I noticed, that most of the companies are on the West coast and I live on the East Coast. I hope that Fairygodboss will start working with employers on the East coast someday. You could speak with the Fairygodboss administrator and let them know about your experience.

Nope. I personally wondered if it was because I didn't have a fit/genuine interest in the roles but was also starting to wonder if it was a scam, etc.

Don't do it. If you disclose all your info to them, you are setting yourself up for SPAM.

In recent months, I’ve started exploring ways to make money online and came across http://madcash.pro/ . The site covers freelancing, web marketing, and simple earning ideas in a friendly way. For a beginner like me, it’s refreshing to read articles that actually make sense without complicated jargon. Definitely a page to bookmark for learning.
