"Return to office" in tech jobs. Has anyone heard whether Amazon will go back to 3 days in-office after a large mass of employees quits? I have heard the RTO may be back door firing. Wondering if Amazon is really in 5 days per week for the long haul.

    Large numbers of employees haven't quit after RTO mandates. That's why Amazon had to do layoffs. Not enough quit.

    So more mid to small companies are now adopting the RTO mandate. They were waiting for the big companies to test out the mandate first.

    Next year most will be called back into the office fully unfortunately.

    I wonder why they are ignoring the data that shows hybrid workplace makes employees most productive. Shareholders I guess.

    I don't think they believe it. The leadership wants control so butts in the seats is control.

    Where did you hear a large mass of employees quit? That hasn't happened nor will happen. It was just a threat not reality. The reality is that those called back to the office went back or lost their jobs. And this will continue.

    There have been a number of assertions that come January, teams are going to see numbers shrink as a result of 5 day RTO. It’s silent firing.

    Seems like they’re trying to save managers from doing that kind of work, but they took care of that with the forced attrition of a bunch of midlevel managers already.

    Predictions of mass quiting is not reality. Everyone that needs a job will be RTO. Eventually maybe folks will take the pay-cut and find remote jobs but the masses will return to the pre-covid office mandate in order to keep their jobs.
